It's the third day of January. Are you still accomplishing your New Years resolutions?
Or have you fallen of the wagon and busted open that bag of Oreos.
Resolutions are a funny thing.
It's like the clean slate effect. Fresh start.
We place a lot of pressure on ourselves to be perfect. Not fail. Not slip up.
Then if we do, we host much anger and negativity.
Not the most productive way of going about a lifestyle change, huh?
What if we decided to change ourselves from the inside out? By an approach that hasn't failed us?
What if we didn't read into the diet pills, fad food systems and artificial additives that claim to help us lose weight?
What if we made the conscience decision to eat clean food?
Listen to our body for hunger signs.
Exercised by moving the way that fits your life.
Drank lots of water.
Had an internal dialogue with ourselves about change.
Faced the fear of failure head on.
Visualized success.
Why not take 2013 by the horns. Take control of your life, your body and your mind.
Start integrating positive thoughts, give yourself a compliment.
That is my resolution. Every day. One compliment.
Let's make 2013 a year to not just resolve, but change.
In a big way.
I'm in the middle of a fantastic book, Inside Out Weight Management by Meg Cline. I will be doing a review after I finish. I highly recommend it though!!

Before I forget! This is the book I was telling you I've been reading/making recipes from: http://www.amazon.com/Practical-Paleo-Customized-Whole-Foods-Lifestyle/dp/1936608758
ReplyDeleteIt's great because like it says in the title - it's practical. It's not some crazy fad with strict insane rules. Plus the recipes are awesome/easy/healthy :)
Great words of wisdom! I couldn't agree more. While I have set a lot of big goals for myself thanks to the "clean slate" renewing feeling that the new year brings, I've also given myself permission to screw up, and really, realize that I will. Love your thoughts!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! .... and now I want Oreos.
